In response to a viral video of a Venezuelan gang operating in Aurora, Colorado, law enforcement arrested four individuals at the Ivy Crossing Apartments on charges of drugs and stolen vehicles. Six people were arrested in total, and the four were identified as possibly connected to the Tren de Aragua gang. The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Department of Homeland Security patrolled the area surrounding the apartment buildings on August 21.
The Tren de Aragua is a network primarily located in Venezuela with approximately 5,000 members between the South American country and the United States. Meanwhile, Arapahoe County Sheriff Tyler Brown stated that his department is actively searching for any violations and making contact with individuals to address any issues they may have. During a proactive patrol on August 21, officers from various agencies seized a stolen vehicle, ketamine, and 750 counterfeit pills. Brown explained that his department had developed a plan in response to some conversations about potential issues in their jurisdiction.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office has not yet confirmed how the four individuals arrested are connected to Tren de Aragua, according to FOX 31. All four suspects are currently in custody, but Planet Chronicle Digital has not been able to confirm their exact location. The Aurora, Colorado Police Department established a special task force in August to combat the presence of Tren de Aragua in the area. The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office did not respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's request for comment.
