Video reveals US soldiers under attack after VP Harris' assertion that no Americans were in combat zones.
According to Harris, no active-duty member of the United States military is currently deployed in a combat zone.
According to Rep. Jim Banks, a new video of U.S. troops being shot at overseas contradicts Vice President Kamala Harris' claim that the U.S. does not have troops in an active combat zone.
A service member obtained the footage of a firestorm of bullets and explosives targeting U.S. troops, which was taken within the last "few months," according to the Indiana Republican.
Due to national security concerns, the location and date of the footage cannot be disclosed.
In her debate with former President Trump, Harris highlighted the Biden administration's efforts to withdraw U.S. troops from war zones such as Afghanistan.
She claimed that for the first time this century, no member of the United States military is in active duty in a combat zone in any war zone around the world.
"Banks told Planet Chronicle Digital that the statement was a complete lie, as evidenced by this video showing troops being fired upon."
According to Banks, an Afghanistan veteran and Armed Services Committee member, there is no doubt that U.S. troops are frequently being targeted with attacks.
Banks stated that we have troops in Syria, Iraq, and the Middle East. The Houthis are targeting our Navy ships in the region. Despite the threats, Kamala Harris is attempting to deceive the American people by claiming we don't have troops in combat zones.
Beginning next year, the Defense Department is considering withdrawing American troops from Iraq and Syria, which are designated combat zones. Troops serving in these countries receive combat pay. Currently, there are approximately 2,500 American troops in Iraq and 900 in Syria.
Last month, 14 ISIS operatives, including a senior commander, were killed by U.S. troops and Iraqi forces in an operation.
During the raid, five U.S. soldiers sustained injuries, while two others were hurt due to falls during the operation.
In 2014, the Islamic State seized control of large areas of Iraq and Syria and established a caliphate. Although they were defeated in Iraq in 2017, ISIS sleeper cells have been carrying out attacks in both countries recently.
The Pentagon stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that service members are positioned in hazardous areas, but these deployments are initiated by the executive branch rather than as a result of wars declared by Congress.
"Serving in locations where hostile actions may occur is a part of military service, as designated by executive order and/or the secretary of defense," a defense official stated.
"Despite being stationed in these areas, it does not necessarily mean that the service member is involved in war. The U.S. is not currently engaged in any war and has no troops deployed in active war zones globally."
