Under Biden, DOJ has been politicized; Ted Cruz believes Pam Bondi will reverse it.
The Texas senator stated that Bondi is Trump's most crucial cabinet appointment.
During the Senate confirmation hearings for President-elect Donald Trump's cabinet picks, Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texas, is enthusiastically supporting the nomination of former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi as the country's top law enforcement official.
"Pam Bondi did an excellent job at her confirmation hearing," Cruz stated in an interview with Planet Chronicle Digital on Thursday. "She will be confirmed as the next attorney general, and I am confident that all of Trump's cabinet nominees will also be confirmed."
Trump's personal lawyer, Bondi, may be the most crucial cabinet nominee, according to Cruz.
According to Cruz, the politicization and weaponization of the Department of Justice and FBI under Joe Biden is unprecedented in our nation's history, with the agency being used as an arsenal to target the president's political opponents.
During Bondi's hearing on Wednesday, Cruz questioned her about investigating the thousands of unaccounted-for migrant children who have entered the United States.
Bondi responded, "Yes, Senator."
Cruz replied, "I am confident that she will follow through on it if confirmed."
"According to Cruz, the unaccompanied minors who entered the country were little girls and boys who were in the custody of the federal government. The federal government then handed them over to adults, many of whom were not their relatives. As a result, these children have lost contact with their families and are unsure of their whereabouts."
Over the past four years, the Biden administration's handling of the illegal migrant crisis has been criticized by Republican lawmakers.
In November, following Trump's election win, House Republicans questioned Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra about the administration's procedure for evaluating sponsors.
Becerra spoke before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security and Enforcement about his department's Refugee Resettlement Office, which is responsible for the care and placement of unaccompanied migrant children.
The Biden administration was accused by Republican subcommittee members of hastily releasing migrant children from HHS custody to unverified sponsors, who in turn mistreated and exploited them.
Cruz stated that he requested RFK Jr. to investigate lost migrant children as it is their obligation to do so.
""The government was responsible for those kids, and it is our duty to safeguard them," Cruz stated."
In the near future, the Senate Judiciary Committee will likely vote on Bondi's nomination, which has been backed by current and former state attorneys general, as well as over 100 former top Department of Justice officials.
If the committee approves the nomination, the Senate will schedule a vote to confirm her appointment within the next two weeks.
