Trump signs removed from MAGA dress designer's business and residence after 'Karen' called the police.
Virginia storefront forced designer Andre Soriano to remove Trump signs from outside.
A boutique owner in Occoquan, Virginia, is struggling after a woman called the police on him for displaying Trump signs outside his shop.
Andre Soriano, a renowned atelier dress designer, was served a legal notice to remove Trump-supporting signs from his business.
In a video interview with Planet Chronicle Digital, Soriano revealed that he initiated a flag war in Occoquan, Virginia.
Though Soriano initially found the first few moments of the encounter pleasant, he was soon met with irrationality and backlash about the patriotic decor perched at the front of the store.
Soriano stated that the reason for putting his Trump dress outside was to avoid encountering it.
After receiving a text from Soriano for assistance with the scene, Audra Johnson, a political activist and friend of his, recorded the run-in and posted it to social media.
"Johnson informed Planet Chronicle Digital that he has a video of her concealing herself in a bush, but he is unaware of her actions."
The woman was crying hysterically in the street and called the police. A lone officer removed her from the store's entrance and took her to a local restaurant to calm her down.
"As an American citizen, you have the right to express yourself freely through artistic expression and individuality, without causing harm to others. However, Soriano believes that this freedom is being threatened in today's society."
Despite having hung their Trump-supporting signs for years, Soriano and Johnson suspended them from their homes after being cited by the city to remove them from their business.
They were cited a second time to remove some, but not all, the signs.
Johnson stated, "We're doing our utmost to avoid fines we can't afford to pay."
"We adhere to guidelines," Soriano stated. "We show respect to all."
The business owner is dismayed by the ordinance because he thinks America is the "land of the free, not the land of what others believe."
""As an American designer, I am free to express and create whatever I want," Soriano stated."
Soriano, originally from the Philippines, stated that his mother brought the family to America when he was a teenager in pursuit of the American Dream.
"I love America," Soriano said.
The designer, who worked for stars such as Rihanna, Pharrell Williams, Miley Cyrus, and Courtney Love, was blacklisted after creating the "MAGA" dress in 2017.
"He stated, "Our lives transformed at that point. We received death threats.""
Soriano stated that many Hollywood celebrities are highly divisive and did not favor President Trump.
The creative director stated that he lost his friends, clients, and potential business opportunities in California.
Johnson was also blacklisted as a stage and film actress due to a photograph of her marching at Rosa Parks Circle in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with a sign that read "Trump is your president."
Johnson stated that the industry they are in does not allow them to express their opinions or emotions freely.
"We don't fit the mold."
