Trump's presidential bid receives another boost with Electoral College vote.
Vice President Kamala Harris lost the Electoral College to President-elect Trump, who won all seven key battleground states.
On Tuesday, electors will meet at state capitals to cast their votes for President-elect Trump in the 2024 election, marking a crucial step in finalizing his victory over Vice President Harris last month.
In a largely ceremonial vote at the New Hampshire Statehouse, the state's four electors cast ballots for Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the Democratic vice presidential nominee.
In New Hampshire, the only swing state in New England, Trump was edged out by Harris by about three percentage points.
"The formal vote for President and Vice President of the United States is currently being conducted in every state in the country, as stated by New Hampshire Secretary of State Dave Scanlan, who presided over the procedure."
On Tuesday, New Hampshire, alongside Indiana, Tennessee, and Vermont, was among the first four states to cast their votes in the Electoral College.
In a White House election, when Americans vote, they are essentially choosing state electors who are pledged to support their preferred presidential and vice presidential candidates. These electors are expected to vote based on the popular vote results in their respective states.
On Jan. 6, the electoral votes from the states will be certified during a joint session of Congress, and Trump will be inaugurated as president two weeks later, on Jan. 20.
In each state, the political parties select their electors prior to the general election.
Trump won the presidential election by winning the popular vote for the first time in three tries and carrying all seven of the crucial battleground states that were heavily contested.
Over Harris, the latter and future president won the electoral vote, 312 to 226.
