Trump Rally Secret Service Failed to Protect Senators, Whistleblower Claims
Hawley stated that USSS agents are 'terrified' of another assassination attempt.
On Monday night, Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., disclosed new information about the assassination attempt on former President Trump last month on "Jesse Watters Primetime."
Hawley disclosed to Watters that he had conversed with whistleblowers who gave him details about the USSS lead site agent at the July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
During the rally, a gunman named Thomas Matthew Crooks shot Trump from a sloped roof, injuring one attendee and killing another. The 20-year-old had also injured two others before being killed by Secret Service agents.
In recent weeks, both Republicans and Democrats have closely examined the Secret Service due to an incident that occurred. On "Jesse Watters Primetime," Hawley stated that the lead site agent was inexperienced and incompetent.
"According to Hawley, the Trump campaign was aware that the site agent, who was the lead agent, was inexperienced, ineffective, and incompetent at their job. Additionally, whistleblowers informed him that on that day, she did not follow the standard security protocols."
"Most of the agents present that day were Homeland Security agents, not Secret Service agents, as Hawley clarified."
Some Secret Service agents are unhappy with how the agency has handled the shooting, as claimed by the Missouri senator.
"Hawley stated that whistleblowers are emerging from the Secret Service due to their disbelief in the leadership's actions. They are unable to comprehend why the Secret Service is not taking steps to eliminate corruption."
The Republican stated, "Frankly, they're terrified that this will occur again. We must prevent it from happening again. We need to obtain the facts."
Hawley posted a scathing letter he had sent to Secret Service acting director Ronald L. Rowe on Monday, demanding to know why the lead site agent was assigned to the rally and why certain protocols were not followed.
Hawley urged the immediate suspension of the lead site agent from all Secret Service duties pending investigation of the claims.
The Secret Service was contacted by Planet Chronicle Digital, but no response was immediately received.
