Trump Nominees: The Voice Vote Confirmation Process
Some Democrats may oppose a streamlined process for Senate confirmations for a good reason.
The Senate may have a few non-controversial Cabinet nominees, and senators could expedite the process by confirming them through a voice vote or unanimous consent.
In the Senate, where time is limited, a streamlined process for this would be beneficial. However, some Democrats may object due to a valid concern.
Democrats may demand a roll call vote on nominees they support to demonstrate their bipartisan voting in confirming some of President-elect Donald Trump's nominees.
It is possible that Democrats will reject the nomination of Pete Hegseth for Defense secretary, while other nominees, such as Sen. Marco Rubio for Secretary of State and Sean Duffy for Transportation secretary, may require roll call votes.
By voting in favor of "X" number of Mr. Trump's nominees, Democrats can claim they acted in a bipartisan manner.
