Trump hails Kash Patel as the 'most qualified' to lead FBI after Wray resigns.
In January 2025, Wray announced his resignation from his position.
President-elect Trump stated that Christopher Wray's resignation is a "great day for America," as it will put an end to the weaponization of the FBI. He also praised his nominee Kash Patel as the "most qualified" to lead the bureau.
Wray announced Wednesday afternoon his plans to resign in January 2025.
"Trump stated on Planet Chronicle Digital that the resignation of Christopher Wray is a positive development for America, as it will put an end to the weaponization of the United States Department of Injustice. He added, "I'm just not sure what happened to him.""
Trump declared that his administration will reinstate the rule of law for all citizens.
"Trump stated on Planet Chronicle Digital that under Christopher Wray's leadership, the FBI conducted an illegal raid on his home without cause, worked tirelessly to impeach and indict him, and has taken every action possible to hinder his success and the future of America. He added that the FBI has abused its power to threaten and destroy innocent Americans, some of whom may never recover from the harm inflicted upon them."
Kash Patel was chosen by the president-elect to lead the bureau.
"Trump stated that Kash Patel is the most qualified candidate to lead the FBI in the agency's history and is committed to restoring law, order, and justice to the country. He emphasized that he has great respect for the rank-and-file of the FBI and they share his desire for change. However, he added that the American people are demanding a strong but fair system of justice."
"We want our FBI back, and that will now happen," he continued. "I eagerly await Kash Patel's confirmation, so that the process of restoring the FBI's greatness can commence."
