Trump critics are accused of being 'fascist' by Rubio.
Trump has rejected allegations of previous admiration for Hitler.
Florida Senator Marco Rubio criticized former Trump administration officials who claimed that Trump is a fascist and admirer of Adolf Hitler.
"Rubio expressed doubt about the timing of the accusations against Trump, which were made right before an election, during a "Planet Chronicle Sunday" appearance."
The former Trump chief of staff's interview with the New York Times last week led to the Republican senator's comments that Trump met the definition of "fascist," prompting new attacks on Trump from Democrats just two weeks before the election.
Rubio contended that numerous ex-Trump administration officials are criticizing the former president in order to secure employment opportunities.
Rubio stated that those who worked in or around the administration soon realized that in order to secure jobs after leaving the administration, they needed to become anti-Trumpers.
According to a report from Politico, 13 former Trump administration officials endorsed Kelly's comments in an open letter warning of the dangers of a second Trump term.
"We commend General Kelly for emphasizing the risks of a second Trump presidency. As General Kelly, we did not make the decision to speak out lightly. We are all longtime Republicans who have served our nation. Nevertheless, there are instances in history when it is imperative to prioritize the country over the party. This is one of those times."
Kelly alleged that Trump praised Hitler on several occasions, which Trump has denied.
Kelly stated that Trump had made the comment more than once, saying, "Hitler did some good things, too."
During a stop in Nevada last week, Trump responded to reporters by saying, "I never said it."
