Trump confronts reporter about Iran preemptive strike: 'Is that a serious inquiry?'
When questioned at Mar-a-Lago, Trump responds with "Why would I say that?"
On Monday, a reporter questioned President-elect Trump about the possibility of preemptive strikes on Iran.
During a media session at Mar-a-Lago, Trump answered a reporter's question about targeting Iran's nuclear facilities.
The president-elect responded, "I can't tell you that. It's a great question, but how can I say I'll do preemptive strikes? Why would I make such a statement?"
Trump continued, "If I said yes or no, you would say it was strange that he answered that way. Am I going to do preemptive strikes on Iran? Is that a serious question? How could I answer a question like that?"
Would Trump support Israel if it attacked Iran?
"I don't want to insult you, but I don't think it's appropriate to discuss that topic before something may or may not happen. It's not something I would ever answer, regardless of the location in the world."
Trump stated on Monday that he is making a strong effort to rescue the hostages and that this is being done in collaboration with Israel and the Middle East.
"We are making progress in trying to stop the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia. The war is a difficult and nasty one," he stated.
