Trump campaign kickoff met with DNC counter-programming: Harris criticized for lack of knowledge.
Sen. Rick Scott, R-Florida, stated that Harris has no understanding of how businesses operate.
The campaign of former President Trump launched a counter-programming effort in Chicago, Illinois, with two big-name surrogates who criticized Vice President Kamala Harris on inflation and the economy as the Democratic National Convention began in the city.
"Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., stated that Kamala Harris lacks clarity based on her few proposals."
On Monday, Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., and Johnson were seen in front of charts showing rising prices of food and necessities at the Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago.
Scott emphasized his own experience running businesses in the private sector, while also criticizing Harris for lacking knowledge about how businesses operate. He pointed out that her vice president pick also lacked business experience.
The senators criticized the current state of the economy, particularly targeting Vice President Harris and President Biden and their administration for contributing to inflation increases.
Harris' campaign unveiled a comprehensive economic plan last week, which included a plan to combat "price gouging" in the food industry. Harris intends to introduce the first-ever federal ban on the practice.
Under a Harris presidency, she would drastically expand the child tax credit, allowing up to $6,000 during a child's first year, and extend prescription drug price caps to everyone, rather than just senior citizens.
She proposed a plan that included the creation of a $40 billion fund to aid local governments in constructing more housing and challenging landlords.
"Scott stated that her plan for price controls has never been successful in any location, and it is a form of socialism. He advocates for a free market, a bottom-up economy, and capitalism, which aligns with Trump's ideals."
Johnson criticized Harris and her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz, for their misunderstandings of how businesses operate in the private sector, stating, "Running a successful business is extremely challenging."
Johnson believes that governmental leaders should possess both knowledge of running a business and empathy towards Americans who own and operate businesses.
He stated that the stark contrast in the visions of President Trump and Kamala Harris and Tim Walz for the country is due to their differing approaches.
Scott stated in an interview with Planet Chronicle Digital that under Harris' leadership, there will be an increase in inflation due to her price control idea, and there will be a significant number of shortages.
"While we're here at the DNC each day, President Trump and Senator Vance are doing battleground states," said Trump campaign Senior Communication Advisor Brian Hughes.
The campaign will be holding daily press conferences at the Trump hotel with surrogates, in contrast to Harris's nearly inaccessible media presence.
Hughes remarked that Kamala Harris is not discussing her policies in detail.
Johnson urged "the corporate media, the legacy media, and the mainstream media" to "start asking questions" so that the American public could receive "answers from Vice President Kamala Harris."
Johnson stated in an interview with Planet Chronicle Digital that he believes Harris will not hold any press conferences prior to election day if she can avoid doing so. He emphasized the importance of the American people demanding it, stating, "You're running for the highest office in the land."
"He stated that it was the minimum requirement. She did not undergo a primary and was not vetted by the American people through the democratic process. She has been appointed as the nominee and is now receiving a free pass from the mainstream media."
"That'd be a travesty," the Wisconsin Republican said.
According to Scott, Sens. Tester, Brown, and Rosen were absent from the DNC due to their awareness of her toxicity.
He asserted that the senators were aware that being photographed with Harris would not aid their campaign efforts.
The Florida senator stated that the senators appearing in ads with Donald Trump act as if they were his best friends, despite knowing that Harris' ideas are detrimental to their state and their families.
Johnson concurred, stating that the Democrats do not want to be linked to Harris' contentious policies. Nevertheless, he asserted, "we can assure you that if they are re-elected and Harris becomes president, they will vote with her almost entirely."
The Harris campaign did not immediately provide comment to Planet Chronicle Digital.
