Trump appoints William McGinley as his White House Counsel.
William McGinley was a member of the first Trump administration as a White House Cabinet secretary.
President-elect Trump has appointed William McGinley to serve as his White House Counsel.
"I am thrilled to reveal that William Joseph McGinley has been appointed as my White House Counsel. Bill is a highly skilled and determined lawyer who will assist me in promoting our America First agenda while combating election fraud and resisting the politicization of law enforcement."
The role of the White House Counsel is typically to vet Supreme Court candidates and nominees.
If Trump appoints two more Supreme Court justices in his second term, he will have a majority of the court.
McGinley served as both the White House Cabinet secretary and General Counsel at the National Republican Senatorial Committee during the first administration of Trump.
Before he held political positions, he was a partner at two international law firms.
