Trump appoints team to collaborate with US Treasury nominee Scott Bessent.

On Thursday, President-elect Trump made public his appointments for his administration, including the team that will collaborate with his Treasury nominee, Scott Bessent.

Trump announced on Truth Social that Ken Kies will be his assistant secretary for tax policy.

For 47 years, Kies has worked as a tax lawyer and held positions as the chief of staff for the Joint Committee on Taxation and the chief Republican tax counsel of the House Ways and Means Committee.

Alexandra Preate, whom Trump appointed as senior counsel to the secretary, is also joining the team.

Trump said Preate is an accomplished executive in public relations.

McMaster was appointed as the director of policy planning by Trump, while Katz was named as the chief of staff.

Katz, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute and a Yale graduate, served as a senior adviser at the Treasury Department under Trump.

Samantha Schwab, who previously worked in the White House Office of Legislative Affairs during Trump's first term, has been appointed as deputy chief of staff in the Treasury Department.

Trump praised the team, stating that they are all incredible, hardworking Patriots who will work tirelessly to make America great again.

Trump also named Benjamin Leon James as the new U.S. ambassador to Spain, in addition to the Treasury Department appointments.

Trump wrote that Benjamin is a highly successful entrepreneur, equestrian, and philanthropist who came to the U.S. from Communist Cuba at 16-years-old with only five dollars in his pocket and built his company, Leon Medical Centers, into an incredible business.

"He has contributed to various noble causes, including La Liga Contra el Cancer, and significant medical research at Johns Hopkins and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute."

Joe Popolo was appointed by Trump to serve as the next U.S. ambassador to the Netherlands.

The Freeman Company was transformed into a leading live event brand experience company with the help of Popolo.

Charles & Potomac Capital, LLC, Pinnacle Live, LLC, and Ondas Holdings are all companies that Popolo serves as founder and CEO, chairman of the board, and board member, respectively.

Alvi previously served as the national deputy finance director for Donald J. Trump for President Inc.
