Trump applauds Fani Willis' disqualification, declares case to be "completely dead."
President-elect Trump advised that everyone deserves an apology, as he spoke to Planet Chronicle Digital.
President-elect Donald Trump has stated that the case against Fani Willis, the Fulton County District Attorney, is now "entirely dead" following the Georgia Court of Appeals decision to disqualify her and her team. He believes that the "wonderful patriots who have been caught up in this for years" deserve an apology.
On Thursday, the Georgia Court of Appeals disqualified Willis and her team from prosecuting Trump and co-defendants in her election interference case.
The court did not dismiss the indictment but ruled that Willis and her team no longer have the right to proceed.
In an interview with Planet Chronicle Digital, Trump stated that the entire case was a "disgrace to justice."
"The Biden DOJ began an attack on Trump's political opponent, using anyone and anyone, resulting in the disqualification of his girlfriend and boyfriend, and the theft of funds and trips."
Trump stated that the case should not proceed any further.
"Trump stated on Planet Chronicle Digital that corrupt individuals cannot lead a case and it is unclear how someone else can take over a corrupt case."
Trump stated that the case should be dismissed because it was initiated improperly by an inept prosecutor who received large sums of money through her boyfriend, who obtained it from her, and they spent their time together on cruises.
"Trump stated, "As a result, the case is completely dead." He added, "An apology is necessary for everyone involved, including the patriots who have been unjustly affected by this for a long time.""
Planet Chronicle Digital's request for comment from Willis' office was not immediately responded to.
According to Steven Cheung, Trump's spokesman and incoming White House Communications Director, the American people have given Trump an overwhelming mandate, which demands an immediate end to the politicization of our justice system and a swift dismissal of all the witch hunts against him.
Cheung stated, "We eagerly anticipate coming together as a nation under President Trump's leadership to Make America Great Again."
The Georgia Court of Appeals ruled on Thursday that the trial court made a mistake by not disqualifying DA Willis and her office.
"The court recognized that an appearance of impropriety alone is usually not enough to justify disqualification, but in this case, it was necessary to restore public confidence in the integrity of the proceedings."
The decision states that since the elected district attorney is wholly disqualified from the case, the assistant district attorneys, whose only power to prosecute a case is derived from the constitutional authority of the district attorney who appointed them, have no authority to proceed. Accordingly, the trial court’s denial of the appellants’ motion to disqualify DA Willis and her office is reversed.
