Trump ally threatened to imprison Letitia James if she continues to investigate Trump's businesses.
Earlier this year, a $454 million bond payment was ordered by New York Attorney General Letitia James as part of a civil fraud case against Trump.
During an appearance on "The Benny Show" podcast on Thursday, Mike Davis, a strong supporter of President-elect Donald Trump, criticized New York Attorney General Letitia James.
"The founder of the Article III Project addressed Big Tish James, the New York Attorney General, saying, "I challenge you to continue your legal battles against President Trump during his second term. Let me make it clear, we are not playing around this time. If you persist in your conspiracy against rights, you will face the consequences and end up in prison.""
James should carefully consider the consequences of violating President Trump's or any other American's constitutional rights before taking any action, as warned by Davis.
"It’s not going to happen again," Davis said.
Earlier this year, James ordered Trump to pay a $454 million bond payment as part of a civil fraud case brought against him by the New York AG, who accused him of overinflating the value of his assets to obtain better loans.
Trump's attorneys contested the decision, claiming it was "draconian, unlawful, and unconstitutional."
Following Trump's election win on Tuesday, James and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul pledged to resist any potential "revenge or retribution" that may arise now that President-elect Trump will be returning to the White House.
In his interview with Johnson, Davis criticized Fani Willis, the Fulton County Attorney General who filed charges against Trump for attempting to overturn the 2020 election.
Fani Willis will be disqualified from this case, and it will be handed over to another district attorney in Georgia. No one would bring this case again because it is not a crime to object to a presidential election, as Davis stated.
On Tuesday, Willis, a Democrat, successfully won re-election by defeating her Republican opponent, Courtney Kramer.
In February 2021, just a month into her tenure, Willis announced an investigation into whether Trump and others broke any laws while attempting to overturn their narrow loss in the state to Biden.
The case is currently paused as Trump and other defendants challenge a judge's decision to permit Willis to proceed with the prosecution.
James and Willis' offices have been contacted by Planet Chronicle Digital for a response to Davis' remarks.
Davis, a former Supreme Court clerk and Senate aide, has been proposed as a potential candidate for White House Counsel in the upcoming Trump administration.
Davis has rejected these rumors, stating on X: 'No, thank you. I want to serve as Viceroy.'
