President Trump, upon taking office, issued an executive order directing the withdrawal of the United States from the World Health Organization.
In 2020, Trump initiated the process of withdrawing the U.S. from the United Nations agency. However, President Biden reversed this decision after taking office in 2021.
Trump's order declares that the United States will not withdraw from the WHO.
The Secretary of State must promptly notify the Secretary-General of the United Nations, any other relevant depositary, and the WHO leadership of the withdrawal.
On Monday, the U.S. Senate unanimously confirmed Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., as Secretary of State after he had previously voted for himself and resigned from the Senate.
Trump's directive instructs the Secretary of State and the head of the Office of Management and Budget to halt the transfer of any US government funds, support, or resources to the WHO. Additionally, the order calls for the recall and reassignment of US government personnel or contractors working with the WHO, and to identify trustworthy US and international partners to take over the tasks previously carried out by the WHO.
On Tuesday, the WHO expressed disappointment over Trump's decision and hoped the U.S. would reconsider its course of action.

The globalist body hopes that the USA will reconsider and looks forward to engaging in constructive dialogue to maintain the partnership between the two, for the benefit of the health and well-being of millions of people worldwide."
Trump signed a flurry of orders after taking office on Monday.
