President Biden and his administration are being defended by the White House against criticism from within the Democratic Party that he has not done enough to combat President-elect Trump and establish a strong foundation for the party's future after he leaves the Oval Office.

Biden is working tirelessly to improve various aspects of his term, including domestic manufacturing, combating climate change, reducing drug costs, ensuring public safety from gun violence, enhancing infrastructure, and confirming judicial nominees.

Bates stated that he is leading by example to uphold American democracy, fulfill his campaign pledge to respect the voters' will, and ensure a smooth transition.

Biden's own party members have expressed dissatisfaction with his handling of Trump's nominees and his failure to provide additional protections for undocumented migrants, fearing Trump may deport them.

Justice Democrats spokesman Usamah Andrabi stated that the current Democratic administration is one of the weakest they have seen.

"A Democrat close to senior lawmakers stated that there is no leadership coming from the White House and there is a total vacuum."

Biden has been criticized for his lack of press conferences and interaction with the media during his lame-duck presidency. In the two weeks since the election, while traveling with the press, Biden only spoke seven words to them, as reported by Politico.

Bates also contested such criticisms that Biden has not engaged with the press.

"Bates has been meeting with reporters to criticize President-elect Trump's agenda, including tariffs that will increase the cost of everyday necessities for American families. He is also actively engaging with leaders about the future of the Democratic Party."

Despite the harsh criticism against Biden, some Democratic politicians have defended him.

Sen. Chris Coons, a Democrat from Delaware and an ally of Biden, stated that he believes Biden has departed from his party and the American public, leaving them with valuable lessons to learn moving forward.

"Rep. Glenn Ivey, D-Md., stated that former presidents typically avoid involvement and that the current president should exercise caution as he transitions into this tradition."
