The Trump campaign is speeding up the process of evaluating potential vice presidential candidates.
Sources reveal that the Trump campaign is seeking documents from several potential running mates, as reported by Planet Chronicle' Bret Baier.
As the Republican Party's presidential nominating convention approaches, the Trump campaign is intensifying its search for potential running mates.
The GOP vice presidential nominee search process has entered a new phase, with documents being requested from potential candidates for the 2024 election, sources confirmed to Planet Chronicle on Wednesday.
According to sources, three individuals frequently mentioned in relation to the Trump campaign's vetting process are North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, Florida Senator Marco Rubio, and Ohio Senator JD Vance.
Sources close to the campaign and the former president reveal that the list of potential candidates for the 2022 midterm elections is longer than just the three names previously mentioned. They add that Senators Tom Cotton of Arkansas and Tim Scott of South Carolina, Representatives Byron Donalds of Florida and Elise Stefanik of New York, and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who served as Housing and Urban Development secretary in the Trump administration, are also being vetted.
In an interview with Planet Chronicle Digital in Philadelphia on Tuesday night, Donalds stated that he would not comment on whether the Trump campaign had contacted him for vetting purposes. Instead, he chose to remain silent on the matter.
According to highly placed sources, the list of potential running mates will continue to narrow down, but it remains fluid.
It is reported that the former president is likely to reveal his running mate choice close to or during the convention, which takes place from July 15 to 18 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
In several interviews, the former president has stated that there is a "good chance" he will reveal his running mate in Milwaukee.
Trump campaign senior adviser Brian Hughes stated that anyone claiming to know who or when President Trump will choose his VP is lying, unless the person is named Donald J. Trump.
