On Tuesday, Walz had a flight scheduled to New York City, prior to the debate.
The "CBS Evening News" anchor and managing editor Norah O'Donnell and "Face the Nation" host and chief foreign affairs correspondent Margaret Brennan are moderating the vice presidential debate.
The 90-minute debate, starting at 9pm ET, will be held at the CBS News broadcast center in New York City.
