The Senate campaign arm staff of Tim Scott was unveiled prior to the significant 2026 swing state races.
Sen. Tim Scott expresses excitement about the organization they are building, the victories they will achieve, and the outcomes they will achieve for the American people, in an interview with Planet Chronicle Digital.
The senior staff for the new National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) that will assist incoming Chairman Tim Scott, R-S.C., in his mission to enlarge the GOP majority in 2026 were unveiled on Thursday, and they consist of seasoned professionals with experience in the Trump, Scott, and Pence administrations.
In the upcoming cycle, Scott, who was selected to lead the NRSC, will be supported by a team of experienced GOP operatives.
Jennifer DeCasper, Scott's longtime chief of staff and top adviser, will become the next NRSC executive director. Stephen DeMaura, who served as Pence's 2024 presidential campaign manager, will join her as deputy executive director. He has a wealth of experience in working with campaigns and outside groups to secure election victories.
"Four years of a Trump agenda is even better than two years of complete Republican control," Scott stated in a Planet Chronicle Digital interview. "To defend the majority, go on offense, and advance President Trump's agenda, we need an elite team operating at the highest levels. I am thrilled about the organization we are building, the victories we will achieve, and the outcomes we will deliver for the American people."
"Jennifer DeCasper is an exceptional candidate to serve as the Executive Director of the NRSC, according to Steve Daines, R-Mont., the current NRSC Chairman. As a trusted advisor to Senator Tim Scott, she has demonstrated her ability to navigate both politics and policy with ease. Her strategic thinking, unwavering determination, and commitment to conservative values make her the ideal person to help the NRSC maintain and expand its Senate majority."
Cara Mason, a Trump alumnus, will serve as finance director. Nathan Brand is joining the NRSC team as Scott's senior adviser. The committee's next political director will be Brendan Jaspers, who previously served as director of campaigns at the Club for Growth.
Joanna Rodriguez, currently running communications for Sen. Pete Ricketts, R-Neb, will be the NRSC's next communications director. Meanwhile, Ricketts will be taking on the role of vice chair at the NRSC for the 2026 cycle.
The NRSC has appointed Brennen Britton as its director of external affairs and Brittney Godoy as the committee's senior finance adviser.
"Senator Scott has assembled a team of seasoned, conservative operatives to ensure President Trump has a Senate majority for his entire term, and he is excited to have a member of his senior staff, Joanna Rodriguez, join the team. Rodriguez will bring her experience in crafting winning, conservative messages with incumbents and challengers across the map. As an NRSC Vice Chair and in-cycle Senator, Scott is confident this team will do whatever it takes to win races and champion President Trump's agenda of prosperity and security."
The GOP Senate majority will benefit from the diverse political experience of the team members, as the NRSC believes.
In 2026, several competitive races are predicted, including those for the seats of Senators Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.), Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), and Susan Collins (R-Maine).
Kirsten Gillibrand, a Democratic senator from New York, has argued strongly to her fellow Democrats to allow her to chair the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee during the same election cycle. Her main argument has been her ability to communicate effectively with voters in purple areas, which she believes is crucial for Democrats.
