The DOJ maintains that the Special Counsel report on Biden's memory is in accordance with the law, rather than being unnecessary.

The Justice Department maintained that Special Counsel Robert Hur's report on President Biden was in line with legal requirements and Department policy, following a letter from the White House expressing dissatisfaction.

In a letter obtained by Planet Chronicle, Associate Deputy Attorney General Bradley Weinsheimer defended the Hur report's release to the public as being in line with the DOJ's policy and legal requirements.

The Department has concluded that the report submitted to the Attorney General and its release are in accordance with legal requirements and Department policy, as stated in a letter sent to White House Counsel Ed Siskel and Personal Counsel to Joe Biden Bob Bauer.

The fall-out surrounding the release of Hur's report on the president's memory was not excessive or unfair.

"The language used in the letter is not biased or unnecessary because it is not intended to criticize or belittle the President. Instead, it is used to clarify Special Counsel Hur's findings regarding the President's mental state in relation to classified information."

The associate deputy attorney general countered the White House's assertion that the report improperly commented on Biden's handling of classified information.

"Weinsheimer wrote that Special Counsel Hur's comment on uncharged conduct was misplaced. In fact, he was applying the evidence he gathered to the applicable law, rather than commenting on uncharged conduct."

Hur's report offers substantial information on the grounds for his declination decisions, including the factors that influenced his determination regarding the President's knowledge of classified information and his intentional possession and retention of it.

Weinsheimer stated that the language you object to is directly related to these issues.

The White House has refuted the characterization of Biden as an "elderly man with a poor memory" in response to Hur's report, which was released last Thursday.

Biden has also been vocal about the report's findings, stating that he "did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died."

"During a press conference on Tuesday, Biden yelled, 'How the h--- dare he raise that?' and added, 'Frankly, when I was asked the question, I thought to myself, it wasn't any of their business.'"

According to two sources, it was Biden who mentioned his son's 2015 death, not Hurricane.

"The report, released on Thursday, states that no criminal charges are warranted in this matter, even if the Department of Justice policy did not prohibit criminal charges against a sitting president."

Neither the White House nor the Department of Justice provided a comment when Planet Chronicle Digital reached out for one.
