The DNC hires former Harris staffers to handle social media response to Trump.
The DNC alleges that Trump is already harming the American people.
The Democratic National Committee has appointed the social media team that managed the @KamalaHQ account during Vice President Kamala Harris' unsuccessful presidential campaign, the committee announced on Monday.
The Democratic Party's social team will now focus on creating a new @FactPostNews brand across X, Threads, and Bluesky, with plans to expand to Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. The account aims to combat "misinformation" from President-elect Trump's administration in real-time.
Shelby Cole, the DNC chief mobilization officer, stated to Axios that while the Republican disinformation machine is potent, the most effective weapon is educating the public about how Trump and his administration are harming Americans.
On Monday morning, Planet Chronicle Digital sent a request for comment to the DNC, but they did not respond immediately.
The team's initial directive is to scrutinize the confirmation process of Trump's cabinet nominees, specifically by emphasizing their personal wealth, as stated in Axios. An internal document labels the nominees as "unqualified billionaire selections."
As Democrats reassess their election tactics after Trump's win in November, a new initiative has been introduced.
Last week, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., admitted that Democrats should view the 2024 election as a defeat and analyze what went wrong for the party after losing the White House, Senate, and failing to flip the House of Representatives.
On NBC's "Meet the Press," Schumer discussed James Carville's claim that the economy was the main reason Democrats lost the election.
Schumer stated that the election was certainly a loss, but also a challenge, as he had previously informed his caucus and would repeat the sentiment here.
Though Schumer acknowledged that Democrats made mistakes, he stated that they faced "severe headwinds" in winning four of seven contested Democratic Senate seats.
"Schumer stated that the plan is to engage with working families and demonstrate concern for their well-being, not just discussing legislation, but addressing the factors that have caused anxiety about the future."
