Swalwell criticized on social media for questioning Trump's plan to reduce grocery prices.
'I don't care about Trump's Greenland purchase plans. What I want to know is how he'll reduce grocery prices,' Swalwell writes on X.
President Biden's leadership led to an increase in food prices, which Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., pointed out in a post that questioned President-elect Trump's ability to bring down grocery prices.
Rep. Swalwell wrote on X that he is not concerned about Donald Trump's interest in buying Greenland, but rather wants to know what actions he will take to reduce the cost of groceries.
The Democrats retained control of the Senate despite losing the House to Republicans in the 2022 midterm elections.
Trump will not lower grocery prices, Swalwell later reiterated.
"Trump is clueless about reducing grocery costs, so he's diverting attention by sending kids to fight Canada," Swalwell tweeted.
The congressman's actions sparked more anger among social media users, who questioned why he was not more concerned about the fires in his state that had resulted in two deaths and forced thousands to evacuate their homes.
On Tuesday, President Biden made a statement about the deadly wildfires and announced that FEMA had approved a grant to aid in fighting the blaze.
Biden stated that he is frequently updated on the wildfires in west Los Angeles and has offered federal assistance to help suppress the Pacific Palisades fire.
The Trump team has not responded to a request for comment.
