Steve Bannon predicts a global war that could become Trump's "Vietnam."
Trump should demand an end to the Ukraine war on his first day in office, according to Bannon.
Steve Bannon, former chief strategist of President-elect Donald Trump, is reportedly predicting a global conflict that could be comparable to "Trump's Vietnam."
The host of "War Room" has been advocating for Trump to make an announcement on "Day One" that he will end the war in Ukraine swiftly through his daily radio show and podcast.
Bannon advised Trump to warn in his Inauguration Day speech that he could be trapped by the U.S. defense industry, Europeans, and even his own friends who he claims have conspired to push the United States to continue sending military aid to Ukraine. This includes Keith Kellogg, Trump's special envoy to Ukraine and Russia.
Bannon believes Kellogg is mistaken in advocating for continued U.S. aid to Ukraine until a security agreement is reached that ensures Russia will not launch another invasion.
If the three-year conflict is not resolved soon, Bannon warned, the US may become embroiled in a war that cannot be won and goes against American national interests.
"Richard Nixon's ownership of the Vietnam War ultimately led to his downfall, as it became known as his war, not Lyndon Johnson's, according to Bannon."
""To ensure there's something on Monday, he added an announcement, as Kellogg said it would take 100 days and the old foreign policy establishment said six months," he said."
Trump must convey to Zelenskyy that "a new sheriff is in town, and we'll swiftly negotiate a deal," according to Bannon's reported statement.
Trump pressured Netanyahu into accepting a cease-fire and hostage release deal with Hamas before he left office, and Zelenskyy should pay attention to this.
Politico reported that Bannon expressed his view to them that NATO has transformed into an American protectorate rather than an alliance.
"Bannon stated that NATO is unable to form two combat divisions of Europeans prepared for war, and Europe has benefited from early retirement and full healthcare because they do not contribute to their own defense."
Putin is a bad guy, but I don't worry about Russian influence on Europe.
""Their military hasn't reached Kyiv after three years, and they haven't taken Kharkiv either. The reason I don't stay up at night is because the Europeans don't see Russia as a real threat. If they did, they would allocate more funds and troops to the conflict," Bannon stated."
Bannon, who believes that the U.S. should control Greenland and the Panama Canal for national security reasons, returned his focus to Europe.
Boris Johnson was labeled a "war criminal" by the former British Conservative leader, who also criticized European leaders for considering themselves the Winston Churchill of their day. According to Bannon, the Ukraine war is the biggest failure in Europe over the past few years, with over a million dead or injured Ukrainians. He believes that the best-case scenario is that they will end up exactly where they started, as he predicted three years ago. Bannon blames this on the fantasists like Boris Johnson and French President Emmanuel Macron, who refuse to pay for their own defense and want to be Winston Churchill with other people's money and lives.
