Kennedy wrote that the phrase "Make America Great Again" evokes a nation filled with energy, optimism, and confidence. This was an America that was starting to confront its darker aspects, recognize the injustices of its past and present, while still celebrating its achievements.
The United States was a prosperous nation with a thriving middle class, an idealistic belief in freedom, justice, and democracy, and a reputation for innovation, productivity, and technological advancement. Despite this, the country's health was not consistently prioritized. After speaking with Trump supporters, his inner circle, and the man himself, it is clear that they desire to restore America to its former glory.
Pollsters in Trump's campaign report that Kennedy's supporters are shifting towards the former president. Prior to Kennedy's withdrawal, polls showed him receiving 5% to 6% support in crucial swing states such as Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Trump has spoken to Kennedy about forming a "unity government" to address issues such as ending the war in Ukraine, ending media censorship, and improving children's health.
Trump is likely to announce more additions to the unity government in the near future, as he teased.

Kennedy accused the Democratic National Committee of continuing legal battles against him and Trump, and of running a "sham primary" that hindered a serious challenge to President Biden for the Democratic nomination, resulting in Biden's eventual withdrawal in July and endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris.
