Report: Influencer Faces Deportation for Encouraging Squatting and Bragging About Handouts
TikTok user Leonel Moreno boasted about earning more than $1,000 weekly.
An exclusive report by the New York Post states that the illegal migrant from Venezuela who gained notoriety on social media for making fun of America and promoting squatting has been instructed to depart the U.S.
An Ohio-based judge ordered Leonel Moreno, 27, to be deported from the country on September 9, according to Homeland Security sources.
In March, Moreno was arrested for failing to attend mandatory check-ins with ICE, despite having illegally entered Eagle Pass, Texas on April 23, 2022.
The Post reports that the future of Moreno's deportation is uncertain due to Venezuela's recent halt on accepting flights of migrants, which has complicated the deportation process.
In 2024, Moreno gained notoriety due to his inflammatory TikTok videos. In one video, he displayed a pile of money and boasted about being unemployed. Additionally, he mocked migrants who work in landscaping, construction, and cleaning.
"I didn't come to the U.S. to work like a slave," Moreno reportedly said in Spanish. "I came to mark my territory."
TikTok screenshots revealed that Moreno claimed to earn $1,000 a week and his family received $350 a week in government handouts. He also advised fellow migrants to occupy vacant homes.
Earlier this year, Moreno boasted about the income he made on Facebook and Instagram after his TikTok account with over 500,000 followers was taken down.
"The migrant stated in Spanish, "Although they closed my TikTok account, I continue to earn on Facebook and Instagram. While I won't make the same amount, I will get my TikTok account back and keep earning money.""
