Illinois Governor JB Pritzker criticized President Trump's order that revokes birthright citizenship for the offspring of undocumented immigrants.

Pritzker stated on Monday during an unrelated event that the order was unconstitutional and they would not comply with it, as reported by Politico.

Trump's order, "Preserving the Significance and Worth of American Citizenship," claims that the 14th Amendment of the Constitution does not inherently grant American citizenship to those born within the U.S.

Citizenship in the United States is granted to all individuals born or naturalized within the country and subject to its jurisdiction, as well as the state in which they reside.

The move, which some legal experts consider a constitutional change, is likely to be challenged in court by civil rights groups and immigration activists.

Some conservative legal scholars and Trump advisers have previously contended that the concept of granting birthright citizenship to the offspring of undocumented immigrants is a misinterpretation of the amendment.

The Democratic governor criticized Trump's sudden executive actions, which aimed to fulfill campaign promises on immigration, DEI programs, and more. Pritzker, who has presidential aspirations, stated that the actions were not communicated to state governors beforehand.

""The lack of communication from them is a sign of the chaos that we can expect from the Trump administration for the next four years," he stated."

Biden had raised concerns about an oligarchy of ultra-wealthy entrepreneurs in his farewell address, and these concerns were echoed by him. Silicon Valley titans Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos were among the high-profile attendees at Trump's inauguration.

Pritzker, a billionaire member of the wealthy Pritzker family, stated that the oligarchs sitting on the front row of his inauguration show who he cares about. He emphasized that it is the wealthiest people in America who are cow-towing to him and not ordinary Americans. According to Pritzker, he does not care about ordinary Americans.

Pritzker stated that his main issue with the new administration is their intention to infringe on people's rights. He added that this is something they will have to endure or confront daily.
