Positive press surrounds Kamala, but critics view her decision as risky.
The Democrats' risky move may not be salvaged by positive media coverage.
The newly minted Democratic nominee, Kamala Harris, is being widely praised by the media.
The Washington Post reported that Harris was heading to Milwaukee with the backing of endorsements, funds, and delegates, giving her the appearance of having both money and mojo.
The excitement is understandable. The mainstream press wanted Joe Biden to step aside, and the vice president stepped in to attack Trump from an ex-prosecutor's perspective. Additionally, Harris would be a groundbreaking president as the first female, black, and Asian-American president.
With Biden finally addressing the country tonight, the spotlight remains on Harris.
Yesterday's Milwaukee rally was a shorter version of her Wilmington speech the day before, where she criticized Trump and pledged to support the middle class. If she continues to repeat this, it won't generate much newsworthy content.
Despite having to promote herself and her image, Harris' speech lacked personal content. An hour after her speech, she returned to Washington, instead of mingling in a coffee shop or engaging in other informal interactions.
Although Twitter is not the real world, her hasty campaign launch on the platform raises skepticism.
After a month of intense campaigning, the question arises: How do candidates handle pressure? Do they appear genuine and trustworthy to voters, or do they come across as insincere or manipulative? Do they possess the charm that motivates people to canvass for them, share their image on social media, and persuade their family members to support them?
In 2020, despite her impressive reputation as a candidate with tangible qualifications, Harris struggled to connect the dots and deliver results.
Harris has never won an election atop the ticket in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, or Michigan, but she has won in California. The Biden administration's record is unpopular, and she cannot make a clean break from it. Immediately uniting around Harris feels safe to some Democrats, while others see it as risky. They risk making the same mistake they made with Biden by being so afraid of disunity that they're not gathering the information they need to know how their candidate will truly perform.
No matter which path is chosen, there is always a risk of it going wrong and resulting in failure.
Now that’s a candid assessment.
David Frum, a former Bush White House speechwriter and Never Trumper, predicts that the Trump campaign will define Kamala Harris's identity as a threat to sexual decency and racial order.
In addition, let's not forget about Kamala Harris, our potential new Democrat challenger. Although she finished second in the Democrat nominating process and dropped out before getting to Iowa, she is still considered a 'highly talented' politician, as her mentor, Willie Brown of San Francisco, can attest to.
"Trump alluded to an old internet rumor that Harris achieved political success through sleeping her way to the top."
In the 1990s, Kamala Harris had a relationship with Willie Brown, who would later become San Francisco's mayor. Despite being single, Brown was still technically married, but had separated from his wife more than a decade earlier.
The candidate's midlife marriage, mixed-race background, manner and appearance, vocal intonations, and career in the Bay Area with its association in the right-wing mind with dirt and depravity will be used to create a terrifying psychological profile of the Black, Asian, and female Democratic candidate.
"The Democrats are risking their chances with Harris, but it's not just their risk. If she gets the Democratic presidential nomination, she becomes the only hope to prevent Trump from getting another term in office. She also becomes the only hope for Ukraine, NATO, open international trade, American democracy, and a society founded on the equal worth and dignity of all its people."
Pollster Kristin Soltis Anderson argues in the New York Times that while Kamala Harris has her strengths, Biden's low approval rating is not solely due to his age. Rather, voters believe that his policies have not improved their lives, and these policies are essentially Harris's policies.
Harris was appointed to lead the White House effort on the border. Republicans will likely use her support for a controversial Minnesota bail fund to undermine any tough-on-crime messaging.
According to National Review's Noah Rothman, despite the narrative Democrats will attempt to present to the public, their party has consistently lacked confidence in Harris's abilities.
"During a one-on-one interview with NBC News anchor Lester Holt, Harris defended her failure to visit the Southern border by laughing awkwardly while insisting she hadn't been to Europe either. Despite her apparent confusion, no one else seemed to share her perplexity."

After that incident, she mostly avoided public appearances and preferred to appear in friendly settings such as "The View" and a Comedy Central show hosted by Charlamagne tha God.
"Democrats understand that Kamala Harris must operate in a structured environment to maintain her image as a presidential candidate."
During Fox prime time, Jesse Watters stated that Kamala is "more radical and incompetent" than Joe Biden, labeling her a "California socialist" and "less popular than the least popular president in American history."
"According to Laura Ingraham, no one who truly cares about the country and its people would support someone like Kamala Harris, as they are aware of her incompetence, just as they knew Biden's incompetence."
Yesterday, the liberal women on "The View" had a love fest with the White House press secretary, who consistently assured reporters that the president was definitely running (as instructed).
"Please welcome back the fabulous Karine Jean-Pierre," Whoopi Goldberg said.
The spokeswoman stated that her boss still holds his job and there is much work left to accomplish for the benefit of the American people.
Can a Kamala appearance be far behind?
Perhaps Harris will gain momentum and make the race a cliffhanger. Schumer and Jeffries endorsed her yesterday, but she didn't need their support. A Quinnipiac poll shows her trailing Trump by only 49 to 47 percent, which is better than Biden's performance. Trump is now the older candidate in the race.
The media's positive portrayal of Harris is not a complete representation of the situation.
