On his first day in office, Trump plans to rename the Gulf of Mexico and Mount Denali.
North America's tallest mountain is located in Alaska.
On his first day in office, President-elect Trump will sign executive orders to rename the Gulf of Mexico and Mount Denali, as confirmed by incoming White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
Trump intends to rename the Gulf of Mexico and Mount Denali as part of his executive actions after being sworn into office on Monday.
According to the Post, the order states that President Trump is introducing rationality to government and revitalizing the foundations of American culture.
The Secretary of the Interior has been instructed to make changes to official federal documents and maps, but it is uncertain whether this order extends to schools using the new terminology.
Trump has frequently suggested changing the name of Alaska's Mount Denali, emphasizing that it was originally named after President William McKinley.
"Trump praised McKinley as a "very good, maybe a great president" at a December rally. He also criticized the removal of McKinley's name from Mount McKinley, stating that it is a common practice to take the names of successful individuals off of things. Trump emphasized that McKinley was a successful businessman and governor before becoming president."
In 2015, the Alaska legislature requested that President Obama rename the mountain to Denali, which he did.
On his first day in office, Trump intends to sign approximately 200 orders, focusing on immigration and reducing DEI initiatives.
Trump administration officials revealed to Planet Chronicle Digital that the central theme of his Day One actions is fulfilling campaign promises.
"When President Trump takes the oath of office, the Golden Age of America will commence, as stated by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt to Planet Chronicle Digital. The American people will have a leader who will fulfill his pledges to revive the country's greatness."
Planet Chronicle' Brooke Singman contributed to this report.
