Ohio Gov. DeWine will choose his Lieutenant Governor to replace Vice President-elect JD Vance's vacant seat.

On Friday, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine will reveal Lt. Governor Jon Husted as his choice to fill the Senate vacancy left by Vice President-elect JD Vance before his inauguration on Monday, according to Planet Chronicle.
The announcement will be made at approximately 1 p.m.
On Jan. 9, Vance announced his upcoming resignation to the Senate, which took effect on the following day. He officially resigned 10 days before his and President-elect Trump's swearing in.
Vance expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the people of Ohio for electing him to the United States Senate. He pledged to never forget his roots and has lived up to that promise every day.
"President Trump has been given a clear mandate by the American people to prioritize America's interests, both domestically and internationally. I will do my utmost to assist him in implementing his agenda. Together, we will work towards making America stronger, safer, and more prosperous than ever before."
New Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, expressed his pride in JD Vance after his resignation, stating, "Ohio is proud of JD Vance for his service in the Marines, US Senate, and as our 50th Vice President. I am grateful for his early and unwavering support. His journey has been truly amazing and he is an outstanding individual."
After the new senator is sworn in, the Republicans will have a 53-vote majority.
Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., announced his choice to replace Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., in the Senate. He opted for Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody.
Rubio's confirmation as Secretary of State is expected on Monday, after which Moody can be sworn in.
