Official: Coast Guard Commandant fired due to border security breaches, recruitment issues, and DEI focus.
DHS Official Confirms to Planet Chronicle that Coast Guard Adm. Fagan has been Relieved of her Post
The U.S. Coast Guard Commandant has been fired due to issues with the border, recruitment, and a loss of trust, a senior DHS official told Planet Chronicle.
The Acting Secretary of Homeland Security, Benjamin Huffman, has terminated Adm. Linda Lee Fagan, according to an official statement.
The Coast Guard has shown a lack of leadership, operational errors, and an inability to achieve strategic goals, as demonstrated by Fagan.
The Navy has faced numerous challenges, including neglecting border security threats, poor leadership in recruitment and retention, mismanagement in acquiring key assets such as icebreakers and helicopters, an overemphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, and a loss of trust due to the mishandling and cover-up of Operation Fouled Anchor.
As of June 1st, 2022, Fagan began serving as the 27th Commandant of the Coast Guard, responsible for overseeing all global operations and managing a workforce of 42,000 active-duty, 7,000 reserve, and 8,700 civilian personnel, in addition to supporting 21,000 Coast Guard Auxiliary volunteers.
