No other president has done what Trump has done, according to RFK Jr.
Trump's transition team was joined by Kennedy in August.
Kennedy Jr. commended Trump's decision to finance his own transition, stating that it is an unprecedented move.
The transition team is typically established on Nov. 6th, as it is funded by the General Accounting Office (GAO). However, Trump announced that he would create his own transition team three months early, with private donors funding it. This was stated by Kennedy during a Trump-Vance campaign event over the weekend.
Trump discussed his regrets about certain appointments he made during his first presidential campaign on the Joe Rogan podcast.
Trump started privately funding his transition early, with the aim of learning from his experience and being prepared to implement a plan swiftly if he wins the election.
Over the past week, Trump has been criticized for the remarks made by former officials in his administration, including John Kelly, who described Trump as a fascist and praised Hitler in an interview with the New York Times.
Trump rejected the praise for Hitler and retaliated against Kelly, labeling him a "lowlife" in reaction to the interview.
In August, Trump announced that Kennedy, who had previously run as an independent candidate for president and later endorsed him, would be part of his transition team along with former Democrat Rep. Gabbard, who had supported Trump in 2024.
If Trump were to win the election, having a broad group of supporters assisting in the transition would be beneficial, as Kennedy argued.
"Kennedy stated that the transition team comprises individuals with diverse ideologies, and they will face opposition from certain individuals. However, he emphasized that the team does not contain any corporate lobbyists, which is unique. Typically, such teams are entirely made up of corporate lobbyists. This difference provides hope that the new government will be different from any previous ones."
