Nikki Haley, who ran against President-elect Trump months ago, responded after he publicly announced that she would not be joining his administration.

She wrote on Saturday in a X post that she was proud to work with President Trump in defending America at the United Nations.
She wished for the success of all those who serve in moving the country towards a stronger and safer America in the next four years.
Trump announced on Truth Social that Mike Pompeo, the former Secretary of State and CIA Director, would not be part of his new cabinet. Haley responded graciously.
The announcement came after rumors have swirled regarding President-elect Trump's cabinet members.
The president-elect announced on Truth Social that he will not be inviting former Ambassador Nikki Haley or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to join the Trump Administration, which is currently being formed.
"I thoroughly enjoyed and valued my previous work with them, and I would like to express my gratitude for their contributions to our nation," he concluded. "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
Haley, while campaigning for the Republican party, tried to position herself as an alternative to Trump. However, she later wrote a supportive op-ed about the presidential candidate just two days before the election.
The recently-published opinion piece, titled "Trump Isn’t Perfect, but He’s the Better Choice," was written by the former South Carolina governor.
"Haley acknowledged that she does not completely agree with Mr. Trump, but she mostly agrees with him and disagrees with Ms. Harris. As a result, she believes this decision is straightforward."
