Newly Elected GOP Senator Reveals Plan to Accelerate Trump's Agenda with Rocket-Boosters in the New Congress

Republican Sen.-elect Tim Sheehy has announced his priorities for the next Congress and shared his party's agenda in the Senate after defeating longtime Montana Democrat Sen. Jon Tester.

Sheehy, who won Montana's Senate seat by seven points, revealed to Planet Chronicle Digital that his plans include making Montana affordable again and strengthening America, in line with President-elect Trump's agenda.

"In order to achieve a secure border, safe streets, cheap gas, good cops, and bad criminals, we must end the status quo politics in Washington and rein in our federal bureaucracy. It is time to cut waste, restore common sense, and build a transparent government accountable to everyday Americans."

Sheehy stated that he intends to attach rocket-boosters to the Trump agenda when he assumes office in January in order to steer the country back on course.

"As your senator, I pledge to always prioritize the interests of Montanans, put America first, and act with integrity in all my decisions, as it is what is best for both Montana and the nation."

Immediate action at the southern border is crucial for getting the country back on track, as per Sheehy.

"On day one, President Trump has pledged to seal the border, and in the Senate, we must support the America First agenda and pass lasting legislation to put an end to the border crisis that has brought drugs and crime into our communities for the past four years, as stated by Sheehy."

Inflation and rising costs were the main focus of Republicans during their campaigns across the country, and Sheehy stated that he would prioritize these issues in the Senate.

Sheehy stated that one of her top priorities is to decrease prices for families and increase wages for American workers, including farmers, miners, loggers, truck drivers, electricians, plumbers, and carpenters, who contribute to the economy and provide for their families.

"In order to restore our resource economy, particularly in Montana, we must prioritize bringing back our resource economy because we excel at it in America. We must put an end to the Green New Deal agenda, which has caused significant harm to our forestry, mining, and energy exploration industries. We must harness American energy in all areas."

Montana's rural areas are a significant factor in the state's key issue of protecting public lands, which will be a top priority, according to Sheehy's statement to Planet Chronicle Digital.

Protecting communities and public lands from wildfires is another key priority, as explained by Sheehy.

"In August, I was fighting wildfires and safeguarding our communities. I have experienced the devastation caused by wildfires and have a distinct understanding of how the federal government has fallen short on this issue. I will advocate for Montanans to have greater control over federal lands and prevent extreme environmentalists from influencing federal policies regarding public lands."

When it comes to foreign policy, the military should prioritize winning wars over addressing social issues, according to Sheehy, a combat veteran, who shared this viewpoint with Planet Chronicle Digital.

As a combat veteran myself and married to another combat veteran, I understand the importance of rebuilding our military, preparing our forces for war, and prioritizing combat lethality over social initiatives to keep our brave men and women in uniform and our great nation safe, said Sheehy.

The Republicans will enter the next Congress with a slim 53-47 Senate edge and a razor-thin House majority.

Trump reportedly participated in a Tuesday meeting with Republican senators to discuss legislative priorities, as he will need to collaborate with the chamber to advance his own agenda.

"Sen. John Barrasso, R–Wyo., stated that he was thrilled with Trump's call, as reported by The Hill. He added, "We have a mandate and an opportunity to fulfill the promises we made during our campaign, such as lowering prices, securing the border, and getting America back on track.""
