Moody, DeSantis' chosen Rubio replacement, advocates for auditing the Federal Reserve to address inflation, spending, and border issues.
Ashley Moody, Florida's Attorney General, is set to become a US senator in the near future.
Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody, who is set to become a U.S. senator, has vowed to conduct an audit of the Federal Reserve, pledged to publicly oppose government spending, and promised to intensely battle to strengthen the border and expel unlawfully entered individuals.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has appointed Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., as Secretary of State in the new Trump administration, and has chosen Sen. Randolph Caldwell, R-Fla., to replace Rubio in the U.S. Senate.
With some Democrats considering supporting his confirmation, Rubio is expected to easily pass the confirmation vote.
In the Senate, my priority is to audit the Federal Reserve, as I believe it has contributed to our inflation. Moody made this statement in a post on X.
"As Florida's next U.S. Senator, I will strive to reduce government spending and advocate for fiscal responsibility. I am excited to collaborate with DOGE and make sure the next generation inherits a financially stable country."
She mentioned Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito when discussing her role in confirming judges and justices.
"As a former judge, I will take my role in confirming judges and justices seriously to ensure that they share the values and concepts of law as our Founding Fathers understood them. I will work through the Senate confirmation process to ensure that those who get confirmed are strong nominees and know that it is their duty to interpret the Constitution as it is written."
DeSantis praised Alito and Thomas as the "gold standard" by sharing Moody's post.
"I will back President @realDonaldTrump in the U.S. Senate and advocate for legislation that fortifies the border, constructs the wall, and expels those who entered illegally," Moody stated in a tweet.
DeSantis responded, declaring, "Make Illegal Immigration Illegal Again."
