Melania Trump opts for a navy coat and hat during her Inauguration Day church visit.
White and navy blue are the colors that Melania Trump's outfit highlights.
Melania Trump, the soon-to-be first lady, was wearing a dark navy coat, a hat with a white stripe, black heels, and gloves as she and her husband, President-elect Donald Trump, exited St. John's Episcopal Church after a prayer service before the inauguration.
Melania's attire is suitable for the chilly weather in Washington, D.C., as the inauguration has been moved indoors to the Capitol Rotunda for the first time in 40 years due to the cold.
The couple has been invited to share tea and coffee with President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden at the White House.
After stepping out of the car, Trump was greeted by Biden with the words, "Welcome home."
Although tea has traditionally been part of presidential transitions, it marked a significant departure from four years ago when Trump did not recognize Biden's victory or attend his inauguration.
During the first Trump administration, Melania, a Slovenian American former model, gained notoriety for her distinctive fashion sense. Her 2017 inaugural ball gown, designed by French fashion designer Hervé Pierre, is currently on display at the National Museum of American History, as reported by the Smithsonian.
Since the 1990s, Pierre has been a stylist for first ladies in the White House, according to the South China Morning Post.
