Despite not being chosen as Trump's vice presidential running mate, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio praised the GOP nominee at the Republican National Convention on Tuesday.
Rubio responded to Trump's first public appearance in the convention hall since surviving an assassination attempt on Saturday outside the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, which was covered by Planet Chronicle Digital.
Rubio stated that he had never witnessed such energy and enthusiasm for any candidate in American history, during his lifetime, and predicted that we would observe more of that high energy and enthusiasm in the remaining days of the convention.
Rubio predicted that Trump's speech on Thursday would unite Americans around his consistent message.
"Our president wants to prioritize America and Americans above all else, and if he doesn't do so, then who will?" he said. "I believe that is the one thing we should be united over, and I hope we'll take that away from Thursday night."
Trump announced Vance as his running mate on Monday on Truth Social, during the Republican convention's process of officially nominating him.
Trump wrote that after careful consideration and taking into account the impressive skills of numerous individuals, he has determined that Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio is the most suitable candidate to become the Vice President of the United States.
During his nomination process on the convention floor later in the day, Vance was warmly welcomed by members of the Ohio delegation.
According to multiple sources, Rubio and North Dakota Gov. Burgum were both informed they would not be selected ahead of their announcement.
Trump's choice for 2024, JD Vance, is a fantastic option. Americans will soon recognize his incredible intelligence and talent, as well as his unwavering commitment to making America great again. Vote for #TrumpVance2024 to unite our people and save our country! Rubio wrote on X following the announcement.
