Macron, Zelenskyy and Trump meet prior to Notre Dame's reopening ceremony in Paris.
France is 'pleased' to have Trump visit the country, according to Macron.
After his election victory, President-elect Trump met with world leaders before the reopening ceremony of the Notre Dame Cathedral, marking his return to the global stage.
On Saturday, Trump journeyed to France to participate in the rededication of Notre Dame, the renowned cathedral that sustained significant harm in a fire five years ago. This excursion signifies Trump's initial international trip since being elected to a second, non-continuous term as president.
During his visit, Trump showcased his diplomatic skills by meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and later with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Elysee Presidential Palace in Paris.
"French people are honored to welcome you back five years later, Macron said, recalling your first presidency and immediate action. We are thrilled to have you here again."
Prior to the conference, Trump stated that the global leaders would discuss the current state of affairs, noting that "the world is going a little crazy."
"As everyone knows, we accomplished a lot together and have a great relationship," Trump said of Macron. "The people of France are also spectacular."
After the ceremony, Trump is predicted to meet with Prince William, who is standing in for his father, King Charles III, at the event, as per Kensington Palace.
The meeting between William and the First Lady at the UK residence in Paris was canceled due to weather, but they will meet at the ceremony.
