Law enforcement officials are heightened in Washington, D.C., prior to President-elect Trump's inauguration on January 20th.

Numerous personnel from the Department of Homeland Security, the Metropolitan Police Department of D.C., the U.S. Capitol Police, the FBI, the U.S. Secret Service, and the National Guard will be deployed.

This year's White House inauguration is expected to face heightened security measures due to recent security incidents.

This month, a U.S. military veteran detonated a Tesla Cybertruck using fireworks and other items outside a Trump hotel in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, a man was arrested by U.S. Capitol police for attempting to set fire to a car near the location where mourners were paying their respects to former President Jimmy Carter.

After two unsuccessful attempts on the president-elect's life during his campaign for a second term, he was assassinated.

A week before the event, Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser assured residents during a press conference that she had faith in law enforcement and that road closures were imminent.

The Secret Service's Washington Field Office, led by Matt McCool, stated that the Federal Aviation Administration would soon announce temporary flight restrictions in the vicinity of Washington, D.C. in relation to security preparations.

The inauguration website will include information on any maritime restrictions communicated by the U.S. Coast Guard, which will be supplemented by additional fencing and concrete barriers around the Capitol for the election certification and President Carter's funeral.

The event will require more fencing than any other designated National Special Security Event in the past, as he stated.

The FBI's Washington Field Office stated that it was not monitoring any specific or reliable threats for Inauguration Day, but advised people to stay alert.

The National Guard announced it would deploy 7,800 troops for the inauguration.

Nearly 4,000 officers from across the country will join city police officers on Inauguration Day, as announced by Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela Smith.

On Monday, Vice President-elect JD Vance and President-elect Trump will be sworn into office on the west front of the U.S. Capitol.

Thousands of Americans are predicted to be present, and all attendees will undergo screening by U.S. Secret Service and other law enforcement officials.

Members of the public interested in attending the inauguration will undergo screening at designated checkpoints, as announced by McCool.

Officials said last week they were bracing for nearly 250,000 ticketed attendees alone.

On Monday, individuals visiting the U.S. Capitol were requested by police to avoid bringing items such as alcohol, bicycles, tripods, large bags, balloons, and other objects.
