Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., has endorsed Rep. Kat Cammack, R-Fla., for House Republican Conference Chair.
Reports indicate that House Republicans will hold leadership elections on Wednesday.
Paul declared that @Kat_Cammack is the best choice for the next House Conference Chair due to her proven track record of defending our freedoms and empowering Americans, as well as her commitment to the Constitution.
Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., was chosen by President-elect Donald Trump to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, and Cammack is among the House Republicans who have declared their intention to run for the House GOP Conference Chair position.
In 2021, House Republicans appointed Stefanik to replace Rep. Liz Cheney, who had been removed from her position.
"During the 119th Congress, we will achieve many of our America First objectives, as we are united, energized, and well-equipped to fulfill the promises we made during the campaign. I am honored to have your support and help us take back our country."
Two other GOP representatives, Lisa McClain of Michigan and Erin Houchin of Indiana, have also declared their intention to succeed Stefanik.
The role of Senate GOP Leader is being contested by Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Sen. John Thune, R-S.D.
Last week, Paul tweeted that he will be supporting Rick Scott for Senate Majority Leader and that the current annual deficits of $2 Trillion are unsustainable.
Republican senators are slated to vote on Wednesday.
