Kamala faces pressure in debate with Trump as they exchange accusations
The vice president is the focus of everyone's attention.
The outcome of tonight's debate is uncertain, but polls indicate that Kamala Harris is under pressure.
While most people on the planet have a strong opinion about Donald Trump, either loving or hating him, the vice president has only given one interview in four years and tends to avoid the media.
In a New York Times/Siena College survey, 9% of respondents felt they needed to know more about Trump, while only 28% felt the same way about Kamala. (Who are these 28%??)
In a change election, only 25% of likely voters believe Kamala represents the change they want, while 53% say Trump does.
Nearly half of Trump voters believe Vice President Biden is too far to the left, while only a third say the same about President Trump being too far to the right.
Trump will attempt to discredit Biden by highlighting his record, while Kamala will utilize her legal expertise to attack Trump and bring up his low moments, including January 6th, as well as emphasize her top issue, abortion, where Trump has recently softened his stance in a perplexing manner.
The Times reported that Trump and Harris were tied nationally, with Trump leading by just one percentage point, within the margin of error. Additionally, battleground state polls showed only a one or two-point lead for either candidate, making it a virtual tie. Therefore, pundits should stop claiming that Trump or Harris is leading in any particular state.
Despite receiving extensive positive coverage for her campaign, Kamala did not have a second act following the Democratic convention.
If she performs well in the ABC debate, all the uncertainty and nervousness will be forgotten, even though Trump may try to manipulate the outcome by calling it the "meanest" network.
Both sides are playing a game where they are flip-flopping and taking old or outdated positions, pretending they are current stances.
Kamala has faced challenges in reconciling her left-wing stance of 2019, when she did not win in Iowa, with her current positions on fracking, decriminalizing the border, and abolishing private health insurance.
She has mostly carried out her actions without providing any explanation, except through anonymous aides stating that she no longer holds that belief.
Despite her reversal, Trump has stated that he will still ban fracking, a major issue in Pennsylvania.
After the debate, I hope she will conduct more interviews to improve her performance.
While Trump opposes Florida's six-week abortion ban and supports free IVF treatments, Harris promises to sign a national abortion ban, citing his three justices who overturned Roe. This has led to criticism from some pro-life groups.
On "Media Buzz," Corey Lewandowski stated that Harris is focusing on abortion as her main issue because it is the only one that benefits Democrats, who he argued have an extreme stance by permitting the procedure up until the ninth month.
Despite Trump's repeated disavowal and criticism of the Heritage plan Project 2025, Kamala maintains that he will carry it out.
The election won't be determined by policy for voters who don't closely follow the campaign like journalists and politicos.
Trump has a four-year term in the White House to be praised or criticized. Kamala must make viewers on all networks that will simulcast the ABC debate feel comfortable with her as a likable person and a potential commander-in-chief.
The only debate between the two candidates will be this one, and the one who requests more debates later on will feel like they need a second chance.
