Johnson will not retain the speaker's gavel, according to Massie.

Johnson has been referred to as the 'Uniparty Speaker' by Massie.

Johnson will not retain the speaker's gavel, according to Massie.

Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., has stated that he will not support Mike Johnson for Speaker of the House next year.

"Massie informed CNN's Manu Raju that he does not have his vote. When asked if he would change his mind, Massie stated that it would take a "Christmas miracle.""

This year, Massie backed Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's attempt to remove Johnson from the speakership, but the large majority of members from both parties ultimately rejected the effort to remove him.

Johnson ‘needs to go’ because he about to ‘commit his third betrayal’ to Americans: Rep. Massie

Nancy Pelosi and most Republicans voted to retain Uniparty Speaker Mike Johnson, as tweeted by Massie.

This week, Johnson supported a government spending bill of over 1,500 pages to prevent a partial government shutdown.

Johnson stated during a Wednesday interview on "Fox & Friends" that the spending measure would delay the government funding issue until March when the Republicans will have control of both Congress and the White House, allowing them to determine spending for 2025.

The measure encompassed disaster relief funding and assistance for farmers.

Rep. Greg Murphy, R-N.C., stated in a post on X that disaster aid and farm aid are not "Pork." Instead, they are part of governing, which is what he and other elected officials were tasked with doing.

But conservatives savaged the proposal and Elon Musk spoke out against it.

Donald Trump and JD Vance, the president-elect and vice president-elect respectively, issued a statement advocating for the passage of a simplified spending bill that does not grant Chuck Schumer and the Democrats all their desires.

Republicans are committed to supporting farmers, providing disaster relief, and ensuring the country's success in 2025. However, they believe that the only way to achieve this is through a temporary funding bill that does not include Democrat giveaways, along with an increase in the debt ceiling. Anything else, they argue, is a betrayal of the country.

This week, Johnson was mocked by Massie through the sharing of an AI-generated image showing the speaker holding a hose while a house burned in the background.

He posted the image following his tweet that stated, "US foreign aid spending is equivalent to watering the neighbor's yard while your house is burning."
