John Bolton lost his Secret Service protection after being inaugurated as the 47th president, according to him.

"President Trump's decision to terminate the protection previously provided by the United States Secret Service did not surprise me, as I had criticized his national-security policies. However, I was disappointed that President Biden did not extend that protection to me in 2021."

Years ago, Bolton has received threats from Iran, including an alleged assassination plot in 2021 and a charge against a member of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in 2022. Despite being ousted by Trump in 2019 and later granted a security detail by Biden in 2021, Bolton has faced ongoing threats from Iran.

The White House did not respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's inquiry about Bolton's assertion.

"In 2022, the Justice Department charged an Iranian Revolutionary Guard official with attempting to hire a hit man to assassinate Bolton. Despite this threat, another individual was recently arrested for trying to arrange for President Trump's assassination. Bolton concluded his statement by stating that the American people can determine which president made the correct decision."

The January 2020 U.S. strike that killed Qassem Soleimani, the head of Iran's Quds Force, led to Iranian threats against Bolton, according to the Department of Justice's report in 2022.

Trump removed Bolton as his national security advisor in 2019 due to significant policy differences.

"Trump announced on Twitter in 2019 that John Bolton's services were no longer required at the White House. He explained that he disagreed with many of Bolton's suggestions and that others in the administration shared his view. As a result, he asked Bolton to resign, which he did this morning. Trump thanked Bolton for his service and announced that he would be naming a new National Security Advisor next week."

In the years to come, Trump consistently criticized Bolton, asserting that he would have caused "World War Six" and labeling him as one of the least intelligent government officials in 2023.

In a 2020 interview, Bolton claimed that Trump lacks the competency to perform his job.

"In 2020, Bolton stated that he believed Trump was unsuitable for the presidency due to his lack of competency and guiding principles, stating that his only concern was what would benefit his reelection."
