JD Vance criticizes Harris for evading the press in Wisconsin, dubbing Air Force 2 as his "future plane."
Vance quipped that the press gaggle following Harris may feel isolated due to her refusal to respond to inquiries.
On Wednesday, Vice President Kamala Harris and Senator JD Vance, R-Ohio, faced off over Harris' failure to respond to reporters' questions while their planes were on the tarmac at a Wisconsin airport.
Vance, Trump's former running mate, revealed at a press conference at Chippewa Valley Regional Airport that he was trying to get a closer look at Air Force Two because it would be his plane in the near future.
The Republican expressed concern that Harris' press gaggle may feel isolated because she doesn't respond to their inquiries.
"Vance approached the group and inquired, "Hey, guys. How are you?" while also expressing his desire to examine his upcoming flight and greet the Vice President to inquire about Kamala Harris's refusal to respond to media questions."
"He added, "I thought her press gaggle might feel lonely, so I came to talk to you and answer some questions. I respect you and the American people you serve, and I believe her reporters would benefit from this interaction as well.""
Vance described the incident as "a little bit of fun."
"I had a bit of fun, but I'm not sure if the vice president waved at me as she drove away. Nevertheless, I'm glad to be here in Wisconsin, where I can try to convince people to vote for us instead of just giving another speech."
Later that afternoon, Vance discussed the incident with the employees of Wollard International, a manufacturing company.
"Vance informed the audience that they had a great day. He added that they had just witnessed the vice president's plane on the tarmac. They had landed at the same time as the vice president, and Vance went to inspect the plane that would be his in the future, assuming they all completed their tasks successfully."
"I want to greet the journalists accompanying the vice president, as I believe they may feel lonely due to Kamala Harris not answering any questions."
Planet Chronicle Digital reached out to the Harris campaign for comment.
