Alexander Smirnov has struck a plea deal with special counsel David Weiss, admitting guilt on multiple charges.
Smirnov is pleading guilty to "Count Two of the indictment in United States v. Alexander Smirnov, which accuses him of fabricating a record in a federal investigation."
He is also agreeing to plead guilty to several counts of tax evasion.
The FBI has accused Smirnov of providing "false derogatory information."
