In his latest round of nominations, Trump selects Billy Long for the head of the IRS and Kelly Loeffler for the lead of the SBA.
Both Billy Long and Kelly Loeffler are Trump's longtime allies.
Trump named Billy Long as his pick for IRS commissioner on Wednesday.
Trump praised Long as an "extremely hard worker" and "respected" individual, particularly by those who know him in Congress. He also highlighted Long's experience as a tax adviser.
Billy has 32 years of experience running his own businesses in Real Estate and is one of the top Auctioneers in the country. He served 12 years in Congress because he believed it was important for his constituents to have a Representative who had experience signing checks.
"Billy, the consummate 'people person,' will be well-respected by taxpayers and IRS employees as he takes the helm. Congratulations!"
Trump appointed former U.S. Sen. Kelly Loeffler to lead the Small Business Administration (SBA), which aims to assist small businesses with resources including loans, government contracts, and counseling.
"Small businesses are the backbone of our great economy. Kelly will bring her experience in business and Washington to reduce red tape, unleash opportunity for our small businesses to grow, innovate, and thrive. She will focus on ensuring that SBA is accountable to taxpayers by cracking down on waste, fraud, and regulatory overreach."
Loeffler, a longtime ally and a co-chair of Trump's inaugural committee, was praised by Trump as a "tremendous fighter" and cited for her success in business.
"Kelly, prior to her tenure in the U.S. Senate, had a 25-year career in financial services and technology. Along with her husband, Jeff, she helped build a Fortune 500 company from 100 employees to over 10,000 as Executive VP. Additionally, she and Jeff helped Trump secure the Big Election Win in Georgia."
During the first two years of Trump's presidency, the Small Business Administration was headed by Linda McMahon, who resigned in 2019. Trump later appointed McMahon, the former CEO of WWE, as secretary of education in November.
