At the Democratic National Convention on Monday night, Hillary Clinton commended VP Kamala Harris' achievements and criticized former President Donald Trump's legal issues.

"She will strive to reduce expenses for hardworking families, create access to well-paying jobs, and indeed, she will reinstate abortion rights across the country," Clinton stated to the crowd at the United Center. "As a prosecutor, Kamala apprehended murderers and drug dealers. She will relentlessly safeguard our freedom and security. Trump dozed off during his own trial. Upon awakening, he made his own unique history - the first individual to run for president with 34 felony convictions."

During the rally, the crowd chanted "lock him up" in response to the "lock her up" chants that were commonly heard at Trump rallies during his 2016 campaign against Clinton, accusing her of corruption and mishandling classified information.

Clinton could seen smiling and nodding as the chants continued.

""Kamala cares about kids, families, and America, while Donald only cares about himself," Clinton stated."

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul received applause from the crowd by saying, "Trump rarely visits New York these days, except to be convicted of 34 felonies. We're happy with that."

Clinton highlighted Harris' experience as a prosecutor in California while campaigning.

"On her first day in court, Kamala spoke five words that continue to guide her. As Clinton said to the crowd, "Kamala Harris for the people. That is something that Donald Trump will never understand. So it is no surprise, is it, that he is lying about Kamala's record? He's mocking her name and her laugh. Sounds familiar. But we have him on the run now."

"Despite polls, we must persist in our fight for truth and Kamala's election. We must avoid getting sucked into conspiracy theories. It takes a collective effort to raise families, heal a nation, and win campaigns."

As our 47th President of the United States, Kamala Harris raised her hand and took the oath of office, breaking through the glass ceiling that Clinton had mentioned.

We must counter the threats to our way of life and the rule of law as posed by Trump and his allies, as Clinton stated to the crowd.

"Avoid distraction and complacency. Connect with friends and neighbors. Contribute. Celebrate the truth and the nation we cherish."

Clinton stated that she desires her grandchildren and their grandchildren to recognize that she was present during this time and that "we were here" alongside Kamala Harris throughout the journey.

Let's seize this moment, America," Clinton declared. "This is when we rise up. This is when we shatter barriers. The future is now within our reach. Let's grab it with both hands and triumph.
