As his term nears its end, President Biden's approval rating is reaching a record low with just one month remaining.

A Marquette Law School national poll conducted Dec. 2-11 shows Biden's approval rating at 34%, while his disapproval rating stands at 66%.

Since October, Biden's approval rating has decreased by four percentage points, reaching its lowest level in Marquette Law School polling since he took office four years ago.

The latest national surveys, including the most recent Planet Chronicle poll, show the president's approval rating to be in the mid-30s to low-40s, with Biden standing at 41% approval.

Despite initially maintaining a low to mid-50s approval rating during his first six months in office, Biden's numbers began to decline in August 2021 due to criticism of his handling of the U.S. exit from Afghanistan and a surge in COVID-19 cases that summer, primarily among unvaccinated individuals.

The decline in the president's approval was caused by rising inflation, which began in the summer of 2021 and remains a significant financial concern for Americans, as well as the influx of migrants attempting to enter the U.S. through the southern border with Mexico.

According to a four-year-old Planet Chronicle poll, President-elect Donald Trump's approval rating at the end of his first term was 47%.

A recent Marquette survey shows that 53% of adults across the country approve of Trump's job performance during his first term in office (2017-2021), a three-point increase from their October poll.

The Marquette Law School Poll's national surveys have shown that this is the highest approval rating for Trump since March, when the question of retrospective approval was first asked.

Controversial Trump Cabinet appointments for his second administration have divided public opinion, according to a survey.

A majority of respondents, 51%, disapproved of Trump's handling of cabinet appointments, while 49% approved.

A Planet Chronicle poll conducted from December 6th to 9th showed that 47% of respondents approved of President Trump's performance in selecting his cabinet, while 50% disapproved.

In the Marquette survey, Trump's favorable rating is at its highest since his first administration, with 49% of respondents viewing him positively and 50% negatively.

The president stands at 37% favorable and 62% unfavorable.

The new poll shows that Vice President Kamala Harris has a lower favorable rating of 41% and a higher unfavorable rating of 57%, compared to her October poll ratings of 45% favorable and 51% unfavorable.

In a recent survey, Sen. JD Vance, the vice president-elect, has a 35% favorable rating and a 47% unfavorable rating.

The Marquette Law School poll has a margin of error of 3.6 percentage points.
