Huma Abedin and Alex Soros celebrate their engagement at Anna Wintour's home with a star-studded party: Photos
Over the summer, Soros and Abedin made their engagement public.
On Wednesday night, several notable individuals gathered in New York City for the engagement party of liberal donor Alex Soros and former Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin.
Photos of guests leaving an engagement party hosted by Vogue executive Anna Wintour at her SoHo home were obtained by Planet Chronicle Digital. The party was attended by former President Bill Clinton and Hillary, as well as MSNBC hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.
In addition to the guests mentioned, Adrian Brody and Georgina Chapman, Diane von Furstenberg and her husband, and Barry Diller were also present.
Over the summer, Soros and Abedin made their engagement public on social media, with Soros posting a photo of himself proposing.
Soros wrote in an Instagram post that this happened and he couldn't be happier, more grateful, or more in love.
Earlier this year, Abedin, a longtime aide to former Secretary of State Clinton, made their relationship public by posting a Valentine's Day photo on Instagram of her and Soros, a 38-year-old philanthropist, cuddling up behind a table full of roses at a restaurant booth in Paris.
Seven years after separating from her first husband, a disgraced Democratic politician, the progressive power couple's engagement was finalized in 2017, although the divorce was not finalized until years later.
Since 1996, Abedin has been a loyal Clinton ally, working for her as an intern in the White House and later as a top aide in the State Department, Clinton Foundation, and her 2016 presidential campaign. Currently, she is a commentator at MSNBC.
Since taking control of his father's multibillion-dollar Open Society Foundations in June 2023, Soros, 39, has been making headlines with his jet-setting lifestyle and meetings with top Democratic officials, including former President Clinton and Pope Francis. Records show that he has visited President Biden's White House at least 20 times.
Since 2018, Soros has shared numerous photos of himself with leading House and Senate Democrats, including Chuck Schumer of New York and Nancy Pelosi of California, on his social media feeds. He also posted a picture with Vice President Kamala Harris, captioning it, "It was great to recently connect with Madame Vice President, [Kamala Harris]!"
