A House Democrat claims that Kamala Harris once "walked away from me" and that there was "an eye roll" during a past interaction she had with her in Washington, D.C.

Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez shared her experience with the New York Times as the race for her seat in Washington’s 3rd Congressional District is still too close to call. Currently, with approximately 87% of the vote counted, Gluesenkamp Perez leads her Republican opponent Joe Kent by nearly 11,000 votes.

"Gluesenkamp Perez stated in an interview with the newspaper that when Harris first announced her presidential campaign, she was willing to engage in conversation with her. She revealed that although Harris had contacted many of her colleagues, she had never personally spoken with her. Gluesenkamp Perez also shared that she had only had one interaction with Harris, which took place at the Naval Observatory Christmas party."

"I'm not comfortable with that kind of thing. I had a few beers and noticed that most of the garlands were plastic. My district grows a lot of Christmas trees. I was forced to take a picture. I said, 'Madam Vice President, we grow those where I live.' Gluesenkamp Perez replied, 'She just walked away from me. There was an eye roll, maybe. My point was, it matters to people where I live. It's about respect and cultural regard for farmers. I didn't feel like she understood what I was trying to say.'"

Planet Chronicle Digital did not receive a response from Harris' office on Friday when requesting a comment.

Gluesenkamp Perez's campaign stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that she had "no intention" of endorsing Harris prior to Election Day.

In July, Gluesenkamp Perez urged President Biden to withdraw from the presidential race and resign as commander in chief.

At that time, she stated that Americans have the right to trust their president's ability to perform his duties. The crisis of confidence in the President's leadership must be resolved. The President should prioritize the country's interests and act accordingly.

Gluesenkamp Perez stated that it is easier to blame and demonize others rather than looking inward and seeing what can be done in response to Harris' election loss. She acknowledged that feeling accountable requires mental flexibility, which can be painful.
